So it was summer vacation time for the kids and in typical desi parent style, I started thinking about all the ways to "inspire" them - basically try and keep them away from YouTube shorts and prank videos as much as possible. The discussion turned to startup ideas - because why not.. I have this dream that one day my kids and I will run our own successful startup - basically an excuse to spend more time with them! The kids don't have a say in this - for now.. Anyways, a couple of half-decent startup ideas did come through.. 1. An aggregator app for quick commerce/e-commerce.. In India, we have atleast 3 large quick commerce apps (Instamart, Zepto, Blinkit) and dozens of e-commerce apps, with increasingly wide assortments (Grocery purchases are a daily habit, but we've also bought an iron box at 6:30am and socks when I found all my current supply in the laundry - all delivered within minutes). Now, imagine an aggregator app where you can just type in the item and it sources data from multiple quick commerce/e-commerce apps and neatly tells you availability, price and time to deliver. Real-time data integration (SKU inventory, pricing, delivery, etc) with the apps will be critical (needing their co-operation). The advantage for the apps to join would be exposure to new customers who are otherwise loyal to their competitors. What do you think?
