I'm fakir trying to make country strong: Baba Ramdev rubbishes reports of falling Patanjali sales
Rubbishing reports that claimed Patanjali's sales had fallen by 10 per cent, Baba Ramdev said, "I am a fakir who is trying to make the country strong. The entire profit of Patanjali is for the country."

Yoga guru and owner of consumer goods company Patanjali, Baba Ramdev has dismissed reports that his company's sales are going down.
He called the reports as "fake".
Reiterating his stand that Patanjali was not a profit-oriented company, Baba Ramdev said, "I am a fakir who is trying to make the country strong. The entire profit of Patanjali is for the country."
Baba Ramdev said that Patanjali group is on its way to making Rs 8,000 crore in turnover. "Patanjali's turnover is reaching Rs 8,000 crore and with the acquisition of some more companies we will be going further," he said.
He added that Patanjali had successfully fought off attempts at acquisition. "Some companies like Adani with foreign backing wanted to take over but with everyone's blessings we have become stronger," said Baba Ramdev.
The yoga guru was reacting to reports that found that Patanjali's sales had plunged 10 per cent to Rs 8,100 crore. The report published by international agency Reuters was based on Patanjali's annual financial report.
Provisional data indicated sales of just Rs 4,700 crore in the nine months to December 31, CARE Ratings said in April, based on information from Patanjali.
Baba Ramdev is in Maharashtra ahead of International Yoga Day celebrations on June 21. He will be attending an International Yoga Day event in Maharashtra's Nanded on June 21, which will also be attended by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
Speaking to reporters, he once again called for stringent population control measures. Baba Ramdev had previously said that in order to contain population growth, the government should enact a law whereby third child should not be allowed to vote and enjoy facilities provided by the government.
Echoing the same sentiment he said, "India's population is crossing 140 crores. We will be 200 crores in a few years. Do we have the infrastructure, fields to feed so many people? That is why I say -- two children. Like China, we need population control and punish husbands if three children are born. No voting right should be given to the third child. You can't just give birth and leave the child on the road. To make this country strong there should be a law brought in for population control before 2024."
