‘HR professionals should turn superheroes’

They should encourage collaboration among employees, says Broadridge Solutions MD

Human Resource (HR) professionals should occasionally double up as superheroes for the welfare of employees and companies that they work for, said V. Laxmikanth, managing director of Broadridge Solutions Pvt Ltd, during a public conversation he had with K. Srinivas Rao, chief strategist and partner, The Strategist, at the 14th edition of HR Conclave of Confederation of India Industries, Telangana.

Mr. Laxmikanth said HR professionals should encourage collaboration among employees. “Such collaborations and respect for others’ views and ideas will enhance the performance of an organisation. Developing credibility and articulation are some of the qualities that HR professionals should possess,” he added.

At the inaugural session, C. Praveen Kumar, founder of Tranquil Minds, said HR professionals play a key role in providing an emotionally healthy space for people to work.

‘Update knowledge’

Gautam Ghosh, HR and social business consultant and former director, Talent branding, Flipkart, said HR professionals should “update their knowledge on new tools and platforms to help colleagues”.

The conclave had also conducted a competition for HR professionals in which Mehak Syal, HR Business Partner, ITC Ltd, Rama Krishna T, Deputy Manager HR, Coromandel International Ltd and Sneha Arora, senior HRBP consultant, SAP Labs India Pvt Ltd, were declared winners. The conference was attended by over 200 delegates from the industry and academia.
